Welcome to Green Street Blues

Welcome to Green Street Blues

We are a ladies a cappella choir (we sing without musical accompaniment) based in Sevenoaks, Kent. The lovely 4-part harmony we create comes just from our voices. Our repertoire is wide ranging; modern, show-tunes and pop. We regularly compete in local and national competitions as well as public sing-outs for fundraisers and just for the love of singing.

We sing under the direction of Rosalind Kipps and in 2017 were ranked 6th overall and placed top of the medium sized choruses at the prestigious national competition held by LABBS (Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers).  At the same time Ros was awarded the trophy for Young Barbershopper of the Year – we are fortunate to have such a talented young MD!

Anybody is welcome to come and listen into a rehearsal to get a flavour of what goes on behind-the-scenes to produce the unique and mesmerising sound of close harmony  singing, so why not join us for a rehearsal evening? We rehearse every Tuesday night  from 7.45pm – 10.30pm at The Drive Methodist Church TN13 3AE just email us to let us know to expect you.

We’re also available for hire! If you’re looking for a unique and awe-inspiring performance for any occasion, no matter how big or small, feel free to get in touch. We are able to tackle a wide range of musical genres and we are willing to consider any special musical arrangements you may need.

What a great first night at our Love to Sing course. The 8 ladies who turned up had lots of fun, learnt some music, did some singing and got tea and biscuits! And they all said they would come back next week! Yippee! If anyone else wants to come along you'd be very welcome!

First night back with all the GSB girls last night properly ringing chords. Love singing!
We were all sad to say goodbye to our lovely bari section leader Amanda Mulroy who is moving too far away from us to stay 😭 We wish her tons of luck with the move.
Amanda is a brilliant example of what happens when you turn up to a singing course. She came to see what we were all about and never left! You end up loving barbershop and stay and sing for ages and make fantastic friends. Make 2018 the year you come and see what we are all about. Trust us, you'll love it!
