Welcome to Green Street Blues

Welcome to Green Street Blues

We are a ladies a cappella choir (we sing without musical accompaniment) based in Sevenoaks, Kent. The lovely 4-part harmony we create comes just from our voices. Our repertoire is wide ranging; modern, show-tunes and pop. We regularly compete in local and national competitions as well as public sing-outs for fundraisers and just for the love of singing.

We sing under the direction of Rosalind Kipps and in 2017 were ranked 6th overall and placed top of the medium sized choruses at the prestigious national competition held by LABBS (Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers).  At the same time Ros was awarded the trophy for Young Barbershopper of the Year – we are fortunate to have such a talented young MD!

Anybody is welcome to come and listen into a rehearsal to get a flavour of what goes on behind-the-scenes to produce the unique and mesmerising sound of close harmony  singing, so why not join us for a rehearsal evening? We rehearse every Tuesday night  from 7.45pm – 10.30pm at The Drive Methodist Church TN13 3AE just email us to let us know to expect you.

We’re also available for hire! If you’re looking for a unique and awe-inspiring performance for any occasion, no matter how big or small, feel free to get in touch. We are able to tackle a wide range of musical genres and we are willing to consider any special musical arrangements you may need.

The ladies of Green Street Blues have had a good clear out and sent 5kg of bras and pants to a UK based charity, Smalls For All. The charity uses old bras (and new pants) to help those living in remote or poor parts of Africa where underwear is a luxury many women and children cannot afford. They are used to help those living in orphanages, slums and IDP camps. It’s a fantastic cause and stops many bras ending up in landfill sites. So if you’re having a clear out of your bras and they still have some good wear in them please send them here instead. Smalls for All

Despite the mini Beast from the East, a frozen door lock and almost fridge like conditions in the hall we had a fantastic day of coaching with the wonderful Monica Funnell. Thanks for giving us so many tools we can use. ... See MoreSee Less
