Welcome to Green Street Blues

BREAKING NEWS!!

GREEN STREET BLUES ARE COMING OF AGE

 …… and moving into town!

RosphotoResized

We celebrate our 18th Birthday at the end of March and are saying ‘Farewell’ to our rehearsal rooms in Badgers Mount.   We are delighted to have found a new home for Tuesday night rehearsals at the Methodist Church at the top of The Drive in the centre of Sevenoaks. The Church itself has a wonderful acoustic and we now have ample break out spaces for section practices and more individualised vocal training.

Ros Kipps has been revising our repertoire and strengthening our music skills since taking over as Music Director last July. She’s  fantastic and there is a great sense of energy and wellbeing as we re-engage with the amazing world of a cappella – taking performance bookings and heading off to festivals and competitions.

If you’re curious to know what sort of sound can be made by singing in 4 part harmony you’re welcome to visit and listen in. You won’t be put on the spot in any way – we’re delighted to give you a flavour of the mesmerising sound of ladies’ close harmony a cappella.

If you sing a bit already (in the car, the bath, when walking with friends or in a more formal group) and like our sound, we now have the facilities to expand our chorus and are welcoming new members particularly ladies who may have alto voices.   Ros, or a member of our Music Team will take you aside and listen to you sing “Happy Birthday” (well – we are turning 18!) to confirm your probable vocal range and start you on your way to learning your first song.
